"The Secret" to happiness

"You're life is a physical manifestation of the thoughts that go on in your head."

YOU choose to be happy :)

Some of my friends at school have been talking about this "secret". Supposedly you can control the things that happen to you and the opportunities that come into your life. All you have to do is think strictly positive thoughts about everything in your life. The more you get mad about things, the more they will happen. If you're constantly worrying about the things that you don't want to happen, then you attract that negative energy towards you. But, if you are thinking only of the things that you want to happen.. and you're thinking of them as if they ARE going to happen, then you attract that very positive energy towards you and you are happy! Usually ending up with whatever it was that you were thinking about. I didn't know if I believed it at first. Especially because the whole idea of it is "getting what you want". I kind of think that it works backwards.. in a sense that, if you're only thinking positive thoughts all the time, then no matter what happens to you, you're happy! Which is a good thing too!! So i decided to try this out. In doing so, I made a cheesy little collage on the back of my bed room door filled with things that I like and that make me happy and that I want to have or experience someday. I have even tried to have a better attitude about everything (such as having school on Saturdays from 8 to 5 haha ) and I have found that it works! My interactions with people seem to go much smoother, work seems to go by faster, and life just seems to be that much more fun :) Dont get me wrong, this all makes me sound like I was a depressed and very sad person before i heard of this.. but it has just helped me to look at life in a different way. And its working for me! I love it.

The collage on the back of my door is covered with quotes and sayings that remind me to be thankful that Im ME and that I have so many reasons to be happy and to be grateful for the things that I do have, rather than the things that I dont.

Life's too short to be a wallflower

  1. That is my FAVORITE song right now! I love it! I love your post too. Whatever makes your life easier is totally worth it no matter how silly it may seem at the time.
